Do you ever come home from work and wish you could walk, no run, right back to work! After a weekend of having two of the step-kids, I came home Sunday to a disaster!!!! At the door I am greeted with shoes and shoes and more shoes! Then the living room…toys everywhere and a very sleepy man on the couch. I am greeted by an eager one year old…rushing to his mommy to be picked up and loved on! He is in his PJ’s and appears to be well fed 😉 Next I go into the bathroom to make sure the kids fed the cat….OMG is all I could say (plus a few choice curse words under my breath). One would imagine that both children showered with the curtain open, water and more water lay on the floor, ready to be mopped up by the mom!! And we won’t even discuss the toilet…but anyone that had boys knows what I mean! I come out of the bathroom and turn the corner, heading to the kitchen…And joy overwhelmed my body! Dinner is waiting for me on the counter and the dishes were done!!! Needless to say I was so glad that the last room I entered, before I went to the bedroom to change, was the best room! It made my night! My guy might not have the house spotless when I get home, but the kids are always taken care of, dinner is always done and most days the sink is emptied and the dishwasher loaded! So, all in all I was happy to be home from work 😀

My step daughter had yet ANOTHER school project to do this weekend…after one last weekend. I swear every time we turn around her teacher assigns another project. And quite frankly they end up being “daddy” or “step-mommy” projects. It’s more work for us and really what does she learn from us doing a bunch of work and then signing her name! When I was growing up, I don’t remember my mother or father doing my projects FOR me…but some of this stuff is so hard that you wonder “how in the world could she do this on her own???” English is not her first language, and while she does speak very well, but sometimes I really think it holds her back . Her mother does not speak English so at home with mom it’s all Spanish. Her mother does not and seems to not be willing to help with school work (even when the directions are in English and Spanish) and it’s aggravating that we (Dad and Step mom) find out about them at the last moment. Who knows why…She is 9 and I am sure she forgets but as I mother I can’t even imagine being so uninvolved and seem not to care about my childs education. She expects dad to swoop in and be there at the drop of a hat. Some of these projects take time and preparation is needs, supplies need to be bought. UGH! Maybe oneday with will get better….but damn…ENOUGH OF THIS! Tomorrow I will pick them up from school and do what we can for the project….and probably will get a new one to boot….till tomorrow!!!

Thanks MamaKat for my mission. I choose to accept it!
2.) The perfect fall photo…share a picture that defines fall for you in your neck of the woods.
Living in South Florida, we don’t have the pretty changing colors. Our color change is from green to brown…not so pretty!!! Fall for me means it starts to cool down…in the 80’s instead of the 90’s!!! We can still go to the beach, but the sun is so brutal! And we can even open the windows…some days (in the evenings!) I love our falls!!
There is one thing that is beautiful year-round here and that’s our beaches! We just went to the beach the other day. It was nice and breezy and we all got to play in the sand and water! It was a beautiful Florida fall day! I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
So there is one thing that I forgot in my 100 things. I drive by braille…I like to reach out and touch people! I seem to be prone to car accidents. It’s like somebody installed a large magnet in my truck and under my hood! It all started within a few months of getting my first car. And it continued REGULARLY until about 3 years ago…Woohoo the insurance is getting ready to go down!!!!! I am so happy that they don’t consider ALL your diving history for insurance or else I wouldn’t be able to drive anymore! I am proud to say that I have gone 3 years (well on 12-02 it will be 3 years) without any car accidents or speeding tickets!
Well after all that is said, I suffer from neck and back problems due to my previous driving by braille incidents. And having my latest baby has made it worse also.I have had all sorts of treatments….Acupuncture, Massage, TENS, Chiropractic treatments, PT and so much more!
So yesterday I had the day off and got so much done around the house…lots of organizing!!! In between all that I was carrying a grumpy little man around the house. Today I woke up with a sore back and by 12pm today I had officially thrown it out of whack! I could barely walk…I made it to the drug store to buy meds, patches and creams!
I am officially out of commission…if only the baby would cooperate! Why is it that when mommy doesn’t feel good the children always seem to be at their neediest!!!! Aiden has cried for me to hold him all day! I know he is teething…but I swear it is at it’s worst today…of all days!
Hoping for some good thoughts and prayers to be sent my way!!!
Eight is Enough~Jenn~
I have this beautiful, amazing little man and he is 1yr old….AND he still wakes up at least once a night for a bottle. He slept through the night for about a week and that was it!!!! I tried the whole let him cry and go back to sleep…but it is too hard to sit there and listen to him pout his way back to sleep! He eats good during the day so I really don’t think it is affecting his appetite…but mommy needs sleep! 4:30am comes very quickly and I definitely do not fall right back to sleep after getting up with him…I am so exhausted. I think I felt more rested when he was a baby and still sleeping in my room, nursing every 2hrs!!! Go figure…lol! Any suggestions that might have worked for other mommies????

This is my almost 9 year DD, showing me what she can do….while I am driving!!!
Sorry for the poor quality of my camera phone….UGH!!!! New one coming in April!!!!
LMAO…I love my daughter!!!!!
Strolling down memory lane:
Oh the pregnancy, what a pain. I had a really hard pregnancy and it didn’t stop at that!!!! I had a hard delivery with a lot of tearing… As he got older, I told him that he was a pain in the butt from day 1…LOL!!! I thought I was going to be in for a real roller coaster ride with the way things we going up to the birth… He was THE BEST baby I have come across, so far! He slept well, ate well, NEVER threw up (that’s a big deal to me…I have seen some babies that regurgitate EVERYTHING they eat and I feared for this!!!) I could take him anywhere…He was just such a pleasant baby. I didn’t know what I did to deserve this…LOL!!!
Now, we sure did have some fun times as he got older….Whew! I remember when he was 2 and he decided that he liked to play with his poo. You got it, he played in his diaper if you did not catch the dirty diaper within a minute of it happening! And yes, he would cover himself in it…. I honestly can’t wait to tell his future wife the stories of these good ‘ole days!!!!
His elementary years…That was sure a fun ride! He was soooo intelligent, yet a clown. He didn’t like to listen…AT ALL!!!! He used to come home and tell us that he already knew what she was talking about so he decided that he wasn’t gonna pay attention! We tried everything…He was always getting into trouble at school….UGH!!!! We fought with the school trying to get him into gifted and they would tell us that if he wouldn’t listen in regular class that they would never consider him for the gifted program?!?!?!? It didn’t matter that he wasn’t listening because he knew what they were talking about and it just wasn’t interesting anymore…. Talk about a vicious cycle!!!!
Now in middle school….A teacher finally saw through all him troubles and recommended him for gifted. He did all the testing that was required…What a lot of testing!!!!!!! He scored in the top 2% of the UNITED STATES with his I.Q.! Wow….We sure did have an intelligent child…but he was not very smart at all. His dad and I came to the conclusion that he lacked ANY common sense!!!! LOL!!! But, I am serious!!! He started acting up…and was getting in a lot of fights and just some stupid child-like stuff…It was frustrating to say the very least!!!! I didn’t think we would make it through the beginning of his teenage years!!!!
Now in high school….He finally got most of his act together 😉 His is on the wrestling team, weight lifting team and does most of his school work…LOL!!! He is in advanced/gifted and some AP classes! He still struggles with the common sense issue….LOL!!! After working with so many different people at the hospitals, that when you have book smarts, you don’t always have a lot of common sense…LOL!!! Some of the better nurses struggles through the book work but have got common sense, do far more better in the work!!!!
My baby is amazing. He is a good boy…though he does get wrapped up in his little girlfriends…hehe! He listens to his parents for the most part and is very respectable! I love my little man and he makes me proud EVERYDAY!!!!!
Happy Birthday Ian Mackenzie….You are so special to me and nothing will ever change that!!!!!!
